Eva is one of the younger Volunteers who had no choice but to join owing to the fact that she is Peter's long term partner and also lived next door to Maureen.

She is one of the few members of the group who will struggle on with some of the more challenging 'book's of the month' long after the rest of us have given up on them.

Having taught English in the Czech Republic for several years Eva now spends her Wednesday evenings trying to encourage us to speak proper.

She works at Hereford Cathedral and makes a wickedly delicious Sloe Gin.
